Columbia Club, a private city club established in 1889, on Monument Circle, offers an opportunity for those seeking to join our dedicated team. With 20,000 square feet of state-of-the-art meeting and event facilities, en-suite guest rooms, and multiple dining rooms, Columbia Club provides a unique and distinguished experience. Job Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and communicate effectively with the kitchen staff and servers to ensure accurate and timely delivery of food orders to guests.
- Verify that all food items are correct, properly portioned, garnished, and in compliance with presentation standards before leaving the kitchen.
- Check orders for any modifications or special requests, ensuring that these are accurately communicated to the kitchen and promptly addressed.
- Monitor and maintain the flow of orders to ensure that the kitchen operates at an optimal pace, reducing wait times and ensuring timely service delivery.
- Ensure that all dishes and food items are prepared and presented in accordance with the restaurant's quality and aesthetic standards.
- Collaborate with servers to organize and prioritize orders to optimize efficiency and minimize disruptions during peak business periods.
- Assist in maintaining cleanliness and sanitation in the expo area, ensuring that surfaces, plates, and utensils are cleaned and sanitized properly.
- Exhibit a strong knowledge of the menu items, ingredients, and preparation methods to effectively answer guest inquiries or address concerns.
- Cooperate and work closely with the restaurant manager, kitchen staff, and servers to ensure a positive and cohesive work environment.
- Communicate any customer complaints, feedback, or issues promptly to the appropriate personnel to ensure timely resolution and guest satisfaction.
- Contribute to the training and development of new expo staff, ensuring they are properly trained on all procedures and standards.
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations, including food safety protocols, and maintain knowledge of emergency and evacuation procedures.
Qualifications:
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact and coordinate with both kitchen staff and front-of-house personnel.
- Excellent attention to detail to ensure accurate order delivery and correct presentation of dishes.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, particularly during peak dining hours.
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple orders simultaneously.
- Ability to handle high-stress situations and remain calm under pressure.
- Basic understanding of food and beverage preparations, as well as menu items.
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations.
- Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Work Experience:
- Previous experience as a restaurant expo, food runner, or similar role is preferred.
Competencies:
Ability to follow instructions and collaborate effectively in a team environment.
