Restaurant Manager

Job Responsibilities:

Staff Management & Scheduling

  • Hires, trains, supervises, schedules, and evaluates restaurant staff.
  • Conducts pre-shift meetings to relay information, policy changes, and updates to personnel.
  • Provides reports on employee hours, schedules, pay rates, job changes, and tip pools, etc.

Operations & Service Standards

  • Plans restaurant setup based on anticipated member and guest counts.
  • Supervises restaurant staff to ensure proper service, assisting with orders when necessary.
  • Confirms that side-work and cleaning of all restaurants and storage areas are completed.
  • Designs floor plans in accordance with reservations when needed.
  • Monitors and maintains inventory of restaurant essentials, ensuring proper storage and accountability.
  • Oversees and accurately updates Wine Society. 

Guest Experience & Issue Resolution

  • Checks table reservations and maintains the reservation system.
  • Serves as the liaison between the restaurants and kitchen staff.
  • Receives and resolves member/guest complaints regarding food, beverages, and service.
  • Develops and implements marketing programs to increase restaurant business.

Financial Management & Reporting

  • Manages restaurant budget, monitoring labor and supply costs to meet financial goals.
  • Supervises revenue control systems.
  • Produces daily or meal-period revenue reports from the point-of-sale system.
  • Oversees the restaurant budget.

Continuous Improvement & Strategic Development

  • Makes recommendations for improving dining room service procedures and layout.
  • Develops and updates policy and procedure manuals to enhance quality and cost control.
  • Implements ongoing initiatives to increase repeat business and revenue growth.

Job Knowledge:

  • Food and beverage cost controls and operating procedures.

Licenses and Special Requirements:

  • Food safety certification
